Barlow Reunion Updates as of March 3, 2010
Greetings!

Top of the day to everyone. We seem to be getting closer to the big event as I write this e-mail.

Some things to add for your information:

First, though we required a $25.00 registration fee in 2005, we are waiving it this year, as we still have a surplus from 2005 and feel we should put it to use this year.

Second, for those who are planning to stay at the dorms, I suggest you bring your own sheets and towels as the school might not have enough to go around. The sheets and towels will be supplied by the school at no extra cost, though I would recommend those of you who are driving there to bring your own and save what is available for those who are not driving the aggravation of finding the school has run out of linens.

If I didn't mention it before, anyone who wants to camp out on the campus is welcome to do so, as some did in 2005.

I invite all attendees to bring your musical instruments so we can just jam from time to time. That is always welcome.

We will be supplying a 1/2 keg of ice cold beer for the Saturday picnic, paid for from the 2005 surplus. Now that's not bad considering I lost money on the first two reunions I organized back in 2000 and 2002, so we are good on that front. And it wouldn't be the case without our organizing committee.  I can get a little crazy with numbers; it's never been my strong point.

It seems that some of you are offering to finance the videographer for the live streaming video site on the Internet and I want to thank you for your kindness and offers.  What I hope to accomplish with this process is to have two separate sites set up for people to log into.  One will be the live streaming video of all festivities as they happen; the other a site where you can just converse back and forth with anyone in attendance at the reunion with those who can't physically be there. You don't need a webcam to do this, though it would be recommended if you want to be able to see those at home and attending virtually.  This will probably be the first time anyone has done this, but thanks to the technology we have today, it is possible.

It was suggested by one of the alumni that we set up a Barlow Scholarship/Party Fund of sorts to help fund future events and to donate funds to Kildonan School for their great hospitality and generous offer to allow us to continue to use their campus for our reunions. I welcome all and any feedback on this as we get closer to our big date.

We will have name tags for the attendees to wear for this event so those from different graduating years can get to know each other.

Also, I realize some of you have already been sending in your checks and all. We will be sending out a registration form to fill out.  For those who have already sent your checks, simply fill it out and mail it in with your check to the address provided on the form.  Thank you all for a great response
